This past weekend, I had the joy of photographing Sabrina and Corey’s wedding at Bakery 1818 in Madison, North Carolina, and it was truly a day to remember. Every moment — from their emotional First Looks to their sparkler exit — was filled with love, laughter, and heartfelt surprises.
How It All Began
Sabrina and Corey’s love story started years ago in the sweetest way — through family. Corey was actually Sabrina’s brother’s best friend, and over time, that friendship blossomed into something deeper.
When it came time to propose, Corey pulled off a perfectly unexpected moment. Sabrina and her sister-in-law were busy helping plan her brother’s surprise birthday party, completely unaware that Corey had a bigger surprise waiting. After dinner, they went to what Sabrina thought was the birthday celebration — but when she saw everyone gathered and Corey got down on one knee, she realized the surprise was for her!
The Wedding Day at Bakery 1818
Bakery 1818 was the perfect setting for their wedding — a beautiful, historic venue in Madison, NC that combines timeless charm with modern romance. Sabrina had a series of emotional First Looks that captured everyone’s hearts — first with her bridesmaids, then her dad, her four brothers, her son, and finally, Corey. Each one was full of happy tears and joyful reactions as everyone saw her breathtaking dress for the first time.
During the ceremony, Sabrina and Corey exchanged heartfelt personal vows. One of the most touching parts was when they dedicated special vows to their two children, symbolizing the beautiful bond of their family.
Downtown Madison Wedding Photos & Sunset Magic
After the ceremony, we took portraits around Downtown Madison, capturing that just-married excitement and all the small, in-between moments that make wedding days so special. While a few guests grabbed coffee up the street, we explored some nearby spots — and the light couldn’t have been more perfect.
As the sun began to set, a beautiful golden glow filled the sky. Corey spotted an alleyway and said it might make a great photo location — and he was absolutely right! It turned out to be one of my favorite shots from the day, perfectly reflecting their connection and his eye for detail.
Heartfelt Dances & Sweet Surprises
Back at Bakery 1818, the reception was full of love and laughter. After their romantic First Dance, Sabrina shared a special moment with her dad — while their daughter helped me capture photos (future photographer in the making!). Corey followed with a dance with his sister, and then Sabrina surprised her mom with a touching dance that brought everyone to tears.
There was another sweet surprise when Sabrina’s mom saw her daughter and new son-in-law dancing — a relative gifted them a money wreath, adding a fun and memorable twist to the evening!
As the night continued, Sabrina and Corey changed into matching pajamas — a playful and unique touch that fit their personalities perfectly — and hit the dance floor again. Before the night ended, they shared a private last dance, soaking in the quiet joy of the day before their sparkler exit.
