Some love stories begin slowly. Sofia and Billy’s began with intention.
They met on Hinge, and Billy didn’t waste any time—he asked Sofia out right away. Their first date set the tone for everything that followed: dinner at Tompopo, a cozy ramen spot, followed by a pallet at Legends. But the real magic happened afterward. Sitting in the car, they talked for over an hour, completely unaware of the time passing. That night made one thing clear—this connection was different.
It didn’t take long for their relationship to grow serious. After meeting each other’s families, both sides gave their wholehearted approval, and the foundation for a future together was firmly set—rooted in love, faith, and family.
When Billy decided to propose, there was no question about where it should happen. He chose St. Pius X Catholic Church, a place deeply meaningful to both of them. Surrounded by faith and reverence, Billy asked Sofia to spend forever with him—and she said yes.
It felt only fitting that the same church where their engagement began would also be where they became husband and wife.
Sofia and Billy were married at St. Pius X Catholic Church in a ceremony that beautifully honored both their Catholic faith and Sofia’s Mexican heritage.
Throughout the ceremony, they incorporated meaningful traditions, including the passing of silver coins as a symbol of trust and provision, and the placing of the lasso around them, representing unity and an unbreakable bond. One of the most touching moments came when they presented flowers to a Sister Mary statue—a quiet, reverent gesture filled with gratitude and devotion.
In a deeply personal touch, both Sofia and Billy gifted their fathers a tie featuring a photo of them—a small but powerful way to honor the men who helped shape the people they are today.
After the ceremony, we stepped outside the church for portraits, capturing that joyful just married energy—smiles that couldn’t be contained, laughter between quiet moments, and the kind of glow that only comes from saying “I do.”
From there, we headed to the DoubleTree by Hilton in Greensboro for the celebration.
After nearly a year of planning, Sofia and Billy shared a First Look of their reception space. Watching them take it all in—seeing months of decisions, dreams, and details come together—was such a full-circle moment. It was real, it was theirs, and it was finally happening.
The reception kicked off with a choreographed First Dance that had everyone watching closely. Mid-dip, there was a split second where it looked like disaster might strike—Billy almost dropped Sofia—but with quick reflexes and a lot of laughter, they recovered perfectly. No injuries, just a great story and a room full of relieved applause.
The celebration continued with a bouquet toss and another beautiful Mexican tradition: guests running under the veil, filling the room with excitement, laughter, and community.
Sofia and Billy’s wedding day was a reflection of who they are—faithful, intentional, family-oriented, and full of joy. Every tradition, every detail, and every shared glance told the story of two people deeply committed not just to each other, but to a life built on love and meaning.
Sofia & Billy, thank you for trusting me to document such a sacred and joyful day. Your love is steady, genuine, and inspiring—and your marriage is already off to a beautiful start.
